CURRENTS Exhibition at A.I.R Gallery, Brooklyn, NY

My painting Lifeline (2017, oil on canvas, 48" h x 30" w) will be on view at A.I.R. Gallery in Brroklyn January 4 - February 4, 2018.  Public Reception is Friday, January 5, 2018 from 6-8 pm.  A.I.R Gallery is a permanent exhibition space that supports an open exchange of ideas and risk–taking by women artists. Curator Barbara Zucker selected works from national artists based on her statement:  Many of the battles men and women waged, battles we thought were won and done, have, over time, come galloping back in full force to be won or lost again. If there is a lesson to be learned, it is that the important fights are never over. Abortion is one of the most inflammatory and urgent issues that face us now. This is a moment to examine, analyze and give voice to this painful, relevant subject. Since 1972, when a group of visionary women artists opened the first gallery space at 97 Wooster Street in Soho, A.I.R. Gallery has been leading the way in championing women artists, increasing their visibility and the viability of their endeavors.
